Some of us presented our projects today and some will present Tuesday. They turned out great!

Making a table

We are practicing comparing numbers from least to greatest or greatest to least. Together we made a table to help see the number of students enrolled in public schools.

Rating our books

Yesterday we made up our own rating system to rate the books we read. Ms. Timmerman doesn't like thunderstorms so it was my "1 star" rating. I love a sunny day on the beach so it was my "5 star rating". Ask your child about the rating system they created!

Monday Message

Hello families! Our class has had such a great start to fourth grade. We have been working hard to get to know each other and the rules and procedures expected in fourth grade. We have a busy week ahead of us!

In writing we are continuing to work on our writing stamina. We are also continuing to develop our Writer’s Notebooks and Writing Workshop.

In reading we are discussing what makes good readers and some different ways to choose books that are just right for us. We are also focusing on building our reading stamina.

In math we will be taking a quiz on Tuesday over place value. I will be sending home a review tonight that will be helpful to the students. Also you can check out the blog for some extra help.

In social studies we are working on creating PowerPoints with a partner. The students were in charge of interviewing another student and then together they will be creating a PowerPoint based off the interviews.

I will begin to introduce word work/spelling this week.

Tonights homework is to read for 15 minutes and write for 5 minutes. Students may also begin to decorate their writers notebooks!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! This week we will work on building our reading stamina, begin our writer's notebooks, and work on math stations.

 We had an awesome first two days of school and we are ready for our first full week! Don't forget that this Tuesday,August 20th, it it curriculum night for 4th grade. It will be in the cafeteria at 7pm. Hope to see you there!
