Hi Ms Timmermans class I am Katy Wharton the class room PTG representative. I need some assistance on the Halloween Party on October 31st from 1:15-2:45. You could donate candy, supples for a craft or game, send prizes or attend the party.
Only one parent has offered to attend the party (sign ups were on curriculum night)
And I know that not all of us made it, and I didn't want you to feel left out. The party success depends on parent involvement. Please let me know if you are willing to help out. My e-mail iskatywharton81@gmail.com. There is 20 kids in the class. And all treats must be peanut/nut free and must be turned into the nurse.
Thanks
Katy

On Thursday we will begin unit 3 which will cover multiplying and dividing.

In reading we will continue to work on making predictions, creating “I wonder” questions, and exploring different ways to think about the text.

This week in math we will continue working on chapter 4. We are learning to write and solve equations using addition properties, with and without variables, and finding a rule for a pattern within an equation. We will have a quiz over chapter 4 on Thursday. Be looking for the study guide Tuesday night.
This week in reading we are working with visualizing the text we read. We will move onto different types of questions and thinking that we can use when reading.
In writing we are finishing our personal narratives. We will celebrate these pieces and share them with our class on Wednesday. On Thursday we will begin to learn more about the writing process through fictionalizing narrative stories.
In social studies we are continuing to talk about the features of a map and practicing our map skills. There will be a quiz on Thursday. It will include map features such as the compass rose, a scale, a legend/map key, and longitude and latitude.
For spelling your student should continue to study their words from word study. I sent a copy of their words home so they could practice at home.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I hope everyone has a great week!
Thanks,
Amanda Timmerman
