- Wednesday is picture day! If our class has perfect attendance on Wednesday we are entered in a drawling for a prize with the whole school!
-Thursday we have a World Jam Day at school at 10:00 am. The whole school will be dancing to a chosen song on Thursday morning.
-Thursday is also Grant’s Farm Night from 5-8 pm!
-There is no school for students on Friday. Teachers will be learning about new technology and safety for our school.

This week in math we will continue working on chapter 4. We are learning to write and solve equations using addition properties, with and without variables, and finding a rule for a pattern within an equation. We will have a quiz over chapter 4 on Thursday. Be looking for the study guide Tuesday night.
This week in reading we are working with visualizing the text we read. We will move onto different types of questions and thinking that we can use when reading.
In writing we are finishing our personal narratives. We will celebrate these pieces and share them with our class on Wednesday. On Thursday we will begin to learn more about the writing process through fictionalizing narrative stories.
In social studies we are continuing to talk about the features of a map and practicing our map skills. There will be a quiz on Thursday. It will include map features such as the compass rose, a scale, a legend/map key, and longitude and latitude.
For spelling your student should continue to study their words from word study. I sent a copy of their words home so they could practice at home.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I hope everyone has a great week!
Thanks,
Amanda Timmerman
